I own the Aldi package from last year but am interested in buying the Mitac Mio 168 without any GPS software.
What are the chances if any that the Aldi Medion software will work with the Mitac? I understand the software checks the Pocket PC model - does any one know how fussy it is?

The reason for the above question is that I am quite happy with the Navigon software but dont like the GPS mouse and fancy the idea of built in GPS of the Mio 168 but dont want to use the CoPilot software.

I wonder also if I were to upgrade the Navigon to the latest v4 whether that would work on any Pocket PC or would the upgrade be tied to Medion device.

Thanks.

I think the chances are pretty small Sad I tried using an HP device and the cheaper Medion PDA earlier this year and both failed to speak to the GPS. I think the problem is that the software is split between the GPS and the PDA ROM.

Contrary to the last reply the Medion Navigator actually works perfectly on my Mio 168. No worries there.... Laughing
