Hi all,

I'm trying to make Destinator3 recognize my bluetooth NAVMAN 4400 receiver, but am failing so far. I've installed the 3.1.6 serial driver for COmpaq I found on the NAVMAN site, but it still reports that no GPS is found.

Any tips would be highly appreciated!

Regards!

You don't need the 3.1.6 serial driver - that one is for the Jacket, not for the BlueTooth.

For the 4400 receiver to work you need to run the BlueTooth manager on your Pocket PC, enable BlueTooth, and create a connection to the serial port of the 4400. After that, go to Destinator and specify the port manually (probably COM8) at 38400 speed. Don't try to autodetect, that doesn't work properly.

Well, seems that I've managed to solve the problem. I have both TomTom3 and Destinator 3 on my iPaq5500 and here's what I did:

1) I uninstalled TomTom GPS driver ONLY

2) Launching Destinator3 brings up the Bluetooth console where I can select the NAVMAN 4400, from which point Dest3 works fine with it (I didn't have to create a serial connection in the BT Manager)

3) Exit Destinator3. Launch TomTom3 - brings the BT console as usual, select NAVMAN - works fine as well

Seems that I've managed to make both Destinator3 and TomTom3 work with the same BT GPS (NAVMAN 4400). Of course not at the same time, but I needed it as D3 has a couple of maps TomTom doesn't provide.

Hope this might be useful for somebody else as well.

Regards!

If you don't want to select the BT device every time you start Destinator or TomTom then you can tweak the registry as is described iin the TomTom forum.
