Is there a bit of "jealousy" in your posting. At least he was testing your good work on the TomTom Go.
Just a thought,, i'll bet MikeB wasn't wearing a "Tuxedo" and drinking "Vodka Martini" shaken, not stirred.
Or was he???

OK back on track, I can't see too much difference in the loudness compared with the previous warnings.
lbendlin take it easy on the red cards, anyone have a warning sound to go with it :-D |

I bet you deliberately made these voices too quiet so you would have to, ahem, "test" them in this way. _________________ Gone fishing! |

Why not giving everyone the way to make their own POI warning files and sharing with other users?
Everyone can set the level to what he likes and make his own custom warnings - included custom POI.
If you are making a small cost for a licence I think it is OK - even if Ghostwheel gives Viftool for free.

yeah, we are pondering the idea... We want to wait until after Cebit, to avoid any duplication of effort 8) _________________ Lutz

Sorry if I have missed something here but the camera database I have on my Go only stores different types of camera, not different speed limits. How can I set it up to work with the new voices announcing the different speed limits? |

I agree with squigles, after using the louder sounds on my 6600 for a few days, they are still considerably quieter than the spoken directions. You can under normal conditions only hear the "SO" in Gatso
I reckon another 10 dB or so is needed.

Hi,
I've been reading up about, and trying to extract the warning sounds, or even any sounds from the Tomtom Mobile dataxx.chk files using the viftool.
All I've been able to extract is some corrupt .ogg files. But NO alarms/alerts. I'd like to make a Dutch version (we are the country that invented these horrible things... ) using the CheckPOInt wav files.
I can't extract the data.chk without a .vif file, can I?
Regards,
Stryx |

the VIF file is not required.
The problem with extraction is that some of the OGG files are run length encoded within their dataxx.chk slot.
On the other hand you don't need to extract them - the alert sounds would be different anyhow.
You cannot use the viftool to repack the alert sounds, at least not directly. _________________ Lutz
