|
|
I am using a Dell Axim X50V, 256 SD Card with TTN 3 & a 512 compact flash with Navigator 4.2. When i use the tomtom software all runs well. When i try to use the Medion Navigator 4.2 it wont find the BT-308 bluetooth receiver.
I have tried changing the settings to com 5, 7 & 8. Baud rate at 38400 & selecting other receiver with no joy?
I think i have read somewhere that tomtom stops other programme's from using the sat receivers. Is it ver 3 that does that?
I dont really want to remove tomtom til i get the navigator 4.2 running.
:x Thanks.

It may be TomTom GPS that's to blame.
If so, turn off Bluetooth, soft reset, Start Menu, Settings, System tab, Remove Programs, tap on TomTom ~ GPS and tap Remove. You'll be asked to press OK to soft reset.
If that's solved the problem with your other software, good. If you've lost TomTom GPS from your Pocket PC, download and install TomTom GPS 3.07 from the TomTom site. If installing TomTom GPS stops your other software from working, repeat the instructions in the last paragraph.

With previous versions of the medion software it was locked to the gps receiver that came with the package (royaltek saphire).
The way to get it to work with other receivers (some of them but not all makes) is to load "sirftweak" and alter the settings for VTG from 0 to 1 (this worked for my wired Rikaline receiver).
It may be the same with the 4.2 version.
Good luck |

Either of the above solutions may be the answer, however, Medion Navigator can only be bought bundled with a Medion PDA and GPS so how do you come to be using it with a Dell Axim?
Whatever, TomTom is far superior to Medion Navigator in nearly every respect and so it may not be worth the bother of resolving the issue! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I came by it thru my brother buying the medion GPS, & i used his disc to try it on my Axim.
I have used his navigation & how you can say tomtom is far superior to tomtom i dont know.
medion Navigator knocks the spots off tomtom. At least when you put a town in for the destination it dont give you streets from all over the UK. It also lists a lot more towns than tomtom.
As soon as i get it workin tomtom is no more for me. tomtom does not list half the roads of the medion software. It's so out of date & i'm using ver 3.01, wish i hadn't wasted my money on the tomtom software now & just bought the medion navigator. But then till you try these things you just dont know. |

I must admit that my choice is TomTom and I agree that I think it knocks spots off the medion - everyones different |
