to v2 if I don't like v4? I've been reading some of the comments about the upgrade and even though I really want to have street names display on the map in navigator view I am little bothered by the now missing distance to destination and compass. I can live with most all of the other changes restricting the flexibility of the program but I don't know about these. In the Los Angeles area "time to destination" pretty much means nothing. Also, as TT (and most other nav programs I believe) does not tell you specifically which exit to take when you have a north/south or as is all to common in LA something like Ventura/Los Angeles dilema having the compass is a tremendous help. Finally, if I get the upgrade and decide the money is water under the bridge can I just go an reinstall v2 or does TT shut off that activation code? Quite frankly this type of DRM just me off but that's digressing...

Thanks in advance for any insight.

First of all, let's do the ritual (avoi)dance and call the new version TTN 2004.

Secondly, if you are a power user you may indeed want to stay with v2.

We are just finishing a review that does a side-by-side comparison of 2.24 and 2004 versions. Should be out in a week or so.

What you _might_ benefit from through the upgrade are newer maps - maybe they are updated in your area (they aren't in mine)
