Hi all,

Apologies if this one has been done before...I've had a look in the old threads to now avail.

I've been using my IPAQ2210 quite sucessfully with TT3 Bluetooth every single day in my car for about the last 9 months. On the way home yesterday the screen froze and then the red light came on the TT3 receiver (sat on dash).

I naturally assumed the battery had run down (on the GPS Receiver, not the IPAQ) so when I got home I charged it up overnight.

I've tried using again (obviously expecting no problems) and I found I could not connect to the receiver nor am I getting any bars in my GPS status (i.e the PDA doesn't seem to be getting any signal at all from the receiver). TT simply states 'GPS Position unreliable'.

Is there an obvious answer? Is the receiver broken? or am I just being a bit stupid?

Any help really greatfully received (if you excuse the pun).

Cheers,

Russ

I had similar problems, BT gps unit red light came one and everything stopped....

So i charged it up, fired it all up and nothing...lights flashed but wouldn't talk to ipaq....

In the end, all it was....really silly actually....just turn on the BT GPS unit, when its on....just press the button again for a second....it seems to start searching for satalites and BT ipaq again....all was well again

Seems that when the BT GPS unit runs out of juice, even when you recharge it doesnt turn the GPS bit on...pressing the button seemed to make it relock on.

Worked for me...hope it does you too

Thanks Jamie.....I'll try tonight when I get home. I must admit, I took the 'let's run the battery down and try again' approach but sometimes the answer is as you say a lot more simple!

I'll let you know if it works for me too.

Ok, I've now tried keeping my finger pressed on the receiver button for a second and it hasn't helped unfortunately.

I have however downloaded V3.03 and again this hasn't helped.

Some additional infomation: in bluetooth manager (after launching TT Navigator) I can see 'TomTom Wireless GPS GPS OUTPUT' displayed under the 'active connections' tab for Outgoing Connections. There is nothing displayed under the 'incoming connections' tab (should there be?)

However, this is displayed for exactly 8 seconds before disappearing from the screen and then reappearing again for another 8 seconds and so on. The 8 second stints co-incide with a flash from the left hand blue light on the receiver at exactly the same point in time. The 'TomTom Wireless GPS GPS OUTPUT' then disappears altogether from the outgoing active connections after a few minutes. Confused

I still have nothing (at all) displayed under the GPS Status tab.

Any help really gratefully appreciated - I'm guessing this is an issue with the receiver more than the actual software?

Thanks in advance.

I've sorted it!

This might be one to add to the TT3 archives....

You need to charge the receiver fully after it's discharge and then turn it on and let it drain totally again. Then, when charging up the next time it should start to work again...

Took me ages to fix but I at least learnt loads of new functions of TT3 in the meantime.

Hope this is of some help to others?
