I'm only guessing but look at the map options.

Haven't been here for a long time, however, the project continues.
Next version (just released):

- "speedo" UI improvements for splitted screen mode;
- optional "time to camera" mode : popup alert banner can display the time left to a camera in seconds (instead of meters);
- other code improvements and bug fixes.

Sounds good Smile

As it stands it's all working OK for me, no issues.

This is the restriction of Android OS since 8.0 afair. An app can't display anything but the small notification.

Leo

Would it be feasible to put in a delay ?

The auto startup when it detects the cars bluetooth works too well Smile

I sometimes have to kill it off to do other things on my phone before setting off. A minutes, or variable, delay before auto starting would be useful.

It is possible. What is desired range of the delay? Say, 30 sec ... 5 min with step 30 sec?

I would say 0 to 180 secs in 30 sec increments as you say.

My phone Bluetooth connects to STA, Android Auto and my Garmin DS61 all from when it sees a connection.

Must get a bit confused at times as Android Auto can be anything from 10 secs to 2 mins to connect.

@Leo_A
I have a couple of queries

1. Can the 'cone' for direction of travel be changed as it could on cameralert? I get some mobile cameras not alerting until right on top of then due to direction travel differential.

2. On appeoaching mobile cameras it keeps warning overspeed even if it's by only 1 or 2 miles an hour, can this be changed? I tried turning off speed excess warning but it still happens. Ideally only like it to warn overspeed if 3mph or few percent over.

Thanks

I understood the problem. STA uses 'rectangle', not the 'cone'.

Width of the rectangle is 110 yds.
It is less tolerant to inaccurate camera directions, but gives less false alerts in megacities.
I'll add an option 'cone' / 'rectangle' or improve 'rectangle' detection.

App settings - Tolerance
Try to adjust 'tolerance' value. Set it +3 or +4 mph.

Has Enforced audibility been deprecated? I have an obscure issue when paired to phone and GPS and I wanted to try changing the setting but can't find it in the app.

I'm running version 1.2.5 full version code 100 which google play thinks is the latest.

Setting referenced here in online help - https://www.speedtrap-alert.com/online-help/android/audio-settings/

Can someone offer some advice? I've always used STA successfully as a floating blue circle in the foreground of my Google Maps satnav on Android 11 (Motorola G8 Power), it's worked fine for a long time.

Now the blue circle immediately goes to '--' and doesn't show any speed or alerts. I haven't changed anything. I've rechecked the battery setting which is not optimised, the 'quick test' passes ok, 'display over other apps' is allowed. But still the blue circle is empty over Google Maps.

I've been battling this for weeks with no luck, and last night I got flashed by a speed camera whilst driving with Google Maps :-(

EDIT: I only just noticed that STA shows '--' even when it is working on its own, in the STA app. So the problem is not just when STA is overlaid over Google Maps. I never noticed this before, as I always use STA with Google Maps. If I'm going somewhere I know, I usually don't need STA either.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Yes, I have the same problem when using the widget. I now start Speedtrap alert, go back to the main screen and start Copilot. That works OK.
