Hi.
New beta version is available.
What's new:
- support of EXITSPECS as new dedicated camera type. This type only stops av. calc, no banner popup or any other warning for these points. Hidden on map by default. To display or hide it, as well as any other type, open app settings - advanced - poi types - find 'average speed check virtual end - there is the checkbox 'hide on map'.

- this feature: https://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=643983#643983

About this:
Kremmen wrote:

When I join the M4, eastbound, at the A329(M), junction 10, I am correctly getting the 2 Specs alerts from 198396 and 198820
But after these 2 close alerts I'm getting an out of specs zone alert which can only be 191815, but that ExitSpecs is pointing the opposite way !

First, I thought this is a bug, but after some investigations I found that this is 'unlucky' configuration of points. No 'just passed' event for 198820. I made some reasonable adjustments for 'just passed' algorithm and now it works better. However, if to move there slowly, say in heavy traffic jam, when car direction jumps, this problem may repeat.

Thanks Leo

Once I get the new version (unless yiu have a link to the beta apk) I'll let you know.

I'll be doing that junction a few times this week.

The current ExitSpecs is working perfectly for me. I don't use the map display so I don't see them.

So the SpeedTrap Alert exitspecs work fine. Don’t bother about them jiggering with iOS CamerAlert!

@Kremmen If you become a beta tester, it's an automatic download K.

@dennisn It appears that there is no progress on CA for ios or the new android 10 problem. SpeedTrap Alert works (on android), the developer is actively developing to work optimally with the PGPSW database and, importantly, taking notice of feedback for his app. CA is not!

Spot on M ....... just signed up for beta Smile

ExitSpecs never featured in the database as a lat/long point so STA was using 'logic' to work out when you'd probably left a Specs road. This wasn't very reliable so all MaFt has done is add the ExitSpecs (not touched EndSpecs) so STA can see them.

The temporary measure meant that the ExitSpecs were displayed on the STA map view but the next STA version they will be invisible ala CA.

@Leo_A

My only 2 suggestions/requests, as before, are:

1) Don't display the average speed unless you are in an average speed zone (Speedo view)

2) TTS Overspeed alerts via bluetooth

They won't affect iOS CamerAlert as iOS CamerAlert downloads the database in a format for iOS CamerAlert with EXITSPECS as EXITSPECS...

SpeedTrap Alert download is simply making use of the existing EXITSPECS that CamerAlert already uses. Nothing is changing with EXITSPECS in the database...

@ Leo - any news on the "autolaunch when connected to car" feature, as discussed recently?

Mine does that OK. Or do you have a specific problem?

Yep, it only works with one car at a time (the one selected in the dropdown). I use two cars, so for one of them I need to remember to manually launch the app. Leo is working on a solution, maybe something similar to how it's implemented in Cameralert.

I can report that the latest beta didn't produce the ExitSpecs false positive at J10 M4 Smile

@nhalliday OK, thanks for that snippet. No wonder it works with my (just one) Very Happy car then.
