So Leo needs to only process the ExitSpecs if we are in a Specs zone.

That was my instant gut feeling.
Leo wants to keep some sort of icon and stuff for EXITSPECS. But if he displays them, the 'orphaned' ones (like those under discussion) will likely cause even more confusion than just having them invisible and announcing end of SPECS zone (or whatever) as in CA. More confusing would be an end of specs zone announcement when you haven't been in a specs zone.

I'm going to hide them on map. I thought they are only on real zones, but.. Out of zones exitspecs are ignored.

Sounds like a good plan Leo.Very Happy Now where's that like button when you need it to save a post. Rolling Eyes

And the PGPSW database, whilst being probably the best lager in the world, is not 110% perfect Laughing

I'll settle with 108%...

In this instance though the 'issue' is caused by trying to retroactively fit an existing system into a 3rd party system. There will always be little issues like this but hopefully we can work around it Very Happy

I wasn't really certain whether it was 108% or 109% hence my reticence to come up with the exact number.
From what Leo said, I din't think there is an issue.

We will find out in due course.

I think the ExitSpecs kicked in today as I got the out of zone at roughly where it should be at the Reading end of the M4.

Never hsd that before.

Not sure whether EXITSPECS has been implemented yet or not. I have not got the latest beta, so I would guess that Leo hasn't released it yet.
I thought that MaFt was going to just make EXITSPECS 100011 the same as ENDSPECS until Leo had worked his magic.

That's what I thought, I'd need the beta, but for the first time, yesterday, I got the 'exiting zone' verbal at about where the ExitSpecs is, first time at that location.

Normally it's a tew miles down the road at Winnersh Triangle where I do a sharp right turn.

MaFt did say he'd implemented a temporary code pending a permanent code and I did update the database Wed evening.

To Leo_A, can the over speed warning beeps be modified just like the normal timed speed camera beeps?
I find them not as obvious as the timed beeps. Wink

At present the EXITSPECS are being downloaded as normal END Specs and will show on the map as a physical camera. Once the new code is in the live app I will change it to the new custom type to show as a 'hidden' camera.

That's what I thought and why it's ending the Specs zone promptly.

Being as I don't use the map display the current method is invisible to me, but it works Smile

Hi.
Beta version is not ready yet. I've found a bug from previous versions, working on it.

Beta version supports EXITSPECS with the option to hide them on map (default) or to display (for those who are familiar with PGPSW database and will not be confused by the exitspecs without a zone).

You can change sound for over speed warning.
Open app settings, then 'alerts', then 'speed camera', then 'sound effect' in 'speed excess warning' (scroll screen down),
Default sound effect is 'jobro' and I'd agree that it is not good hearable when phone plays to Bluetooth and car speakers. I'd suggest to select 'zimbot' sound.
Select new sound effect for all alert types.

@MaFt & @Leo

When I join the M4, eastbound, at the A329(M), junction 10, I am correctly getting the 2 Specs alerts from 198396 and 198820

But after these 2 close alerts I'm getting an out of specs zone alert which can only be 191815, but that ExitSpecs is pointing the opposite way !

Is there an issue with ExitSpecs direction ?

There is a bug in the app. Just ran the app there, confirm the problem. No issues with database points.
