He didn't tell you to remove square brackets, he told you to add square brackets at the start and end of his nearly complete link. Rolling Eyes

No, you're wrong. I originally had square brackets like this [img][/img] but if you look at Kremmen's example, it's like this img][/img, so I changed mine to match.

"Here is a Imgur link:

img]https://i.imgur.com/FqVB2Mm.jpg[/img

To get it to work, copy it and add a square bracket to the start and end. When you do it will look like: "

Notice also that it says add "a" (meaning one) square bracket.

Yes, he was giving you a link to amend by adding the brackets Rolling Eyes otherwise you wouldn't have seen the link, it would have been a photo Very Happy

But I already had the brackets in my original post, so that wouldn't make any sense.

It still doesn't work anyway, at least, not for my links.

I tried to 'correct' the link to the box.com images in my first reply.

It didn't work - presumably because the hyperlinks don't refer to the actual JPEGs; they refer to a web page that then displays the JPEGs...

The link to the JPEG itself appears to be generated dynamically, so you can't capture it and use it bypass their interface Crying or Very sad

I've removed the [img] parts, so at least it now displays active links, even if the photographs can't be displayed in the body text.

Going back to your original query ...

I would expect that one of 'truck' orientated units would go someway towards implementing that. If you tell it your car is 8' wide, you'd like to think it would keep you off 6'6" wide lanes Confused

Units such as the Dēzl 580, are what I'm thinking of - though I have no experience of them: https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/p/589643

(If my Zūmo experience is anything to go by, you might still be sent down "Motor Vehicles Prohibited" roads though Shocked
I've reported my encounters to Garmin as mapping errors - I can't see any reason for such roads to be present in the map)

Then I suspect that it is the host stopping embedding pics.

@cottonsocks.
I am not wrong.
Kremmen told you to add a square bracket at the start [and the end of his the link (That's a total of two) and it will then show the pic.
But that besides, see my reply to g0tch above for a possible explanation.

Which post is that then? I wasn't aware I had quoted any posts containing a picture.

Why would I have wanted to add two brackets to Kremmen's link, just to replicate what I had originally done with my own link and which hadn't worked? Also, since there were two brackets in Kremmen's link then I assumed his instructions were referring to what he had already done and the link was just reinforcing his instructions. That's why I removed two of my original brackets. But it's just academic now as it hasn't worked anyway, so I'm not going to spend any more time arguing about trivial matters like this.

This is what they were saying about embedding the image. If you look at the difference between my post and the one Kremmen showed you how to do it, you will see the difference (notice the file extension).

Code:
[img]https://i.imgur.com/FqVB2Mm.jpg[/img]

The link you have provided g0tch, doesn't appear to be a valid image file, so it won't display in the image brackets as it is a link to a html page. I don't know about appbox, but if you log in to your member area, it may give you options to share in BB code or similar.

Page 2, your fifth post has a copy of the pic that Kremmen posted and I tested (and have subsequently deleted as being pointless and just further cluttering up the thread.).

Look what I started trying to be helpful. Confused

If you're current picture host doesn't like being a picture host then use the free Imgur just for embedding pictures.
