Strange that some seem to have issues with traffic (caveat I use cable and not smartlink). Bar the odd glitch I've found it remarkably accurate, even when in France over August for 3 weeks it was accurately reporting delays, although that's generally not an issue in France except around/in major cities.

If my theory it is Inrix data and not the receiving of it that is the problem, then the fact that France works OK may be relevant as V-Traffic is the provider there and not Inrix.

I think that whether 'it works OK' or not for anyone depends not on the Garmin, but on whether or not you have been caught in traffic that Inrix doesn't know about, thus not transmitting to your device. The other alternative is that the DAB broadcasts do not cover 100% of the country, so if you are in an area of non-coverage, Traffic will not work.

It seems to me that there is little point in discussions on the subject of the different systems and delivery options as they all have their own advantages and disadvantages. As a for instance about delivery. Sygic uses TomTom traffic data but does not have a Traffic Horizon that the TomTom users have to work with.

Good point.

I'm in London with excellent DAB coverage and my Inrix service has never let me down.

Well I don't and my DAB radio is intermittent enough to not bother and use FM, so I suppose Inrix follows the same scenario.
