Can someone throw some light on a puzzle for me, please?
I have two SD cards, each 256Mb. When plugged in on my PDA they each reported as something like 234Mb which I'm guessing is down to the PDA reserving some memory for managing what's going on.
My problem is that I've somehow managed to "lose" about 40Mb of space from one of the cards so that it reports 193Mb as free. When I look at the card with a reader via my PC, there are no files or folders there. Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, how did they resolve it?
The card is "Viking" branded, I bought it from eBuyer.
Any help/comment would be much appreciated! :D

Reformat the card or run a chkdsk / scandisk on the card in the PC because the FAT table is probably corrupted. |

8O I've not been able to do this, I have the card in the reader, but cannot see any folders or files and I'm afraid I don't know how to get to scandisk.
Sorry if this sounds stupid, I'm using Windows XP.

With the card in the reader, open 'My Computer' on the PC, your card reader is displayed as a removable drive, right click it and from the list click on 'Properties'. You should see three tabs across the top. Select the middle tab 'Tools'(i think, as i'm not in front of a PC with XP on it at the moment) where you will see tools to check the card.
Error-checking, defragmenting etc... _________________ Ian.
