While perhaps true it seems that is no longer the 'will of the people' and it is clear that support for a vote on the deal is growing so fast that it's more than likely to happen. Labour have sat on the fence about a second vote, refusing to rule it out, and suggestions are that at the party conference there will be a motion on having a second vote that will win. If Labour shift their policy on this then it'll go through.

TM in any case won't get her package through Brussels, and a no deal scenario with the consequent economic consequences would be catastrophic for the Conservative party, since the public would blame them. While she has been clear there will be no 'second referendum' words mean everything and she hasn't ruled out a vote on the deal, which she might very well see as her salvation. As a number of MPs are increasingly saying, the people started this and the people must finish it ...

Its her only way to keep the Conservative party in one piece which is her main goal. If we leave with no deal so international laws will apply then she can say that is what the people voted for, if it goes the other way, she can say that it is the 'new will of the people'.

The EU isn't playing hardball as such. They are also bound by international agreements which means the UK will be classed as a 'third country'. Pilot certification and similar will cease to be as the CAA has said that they don't have the manpower or expertise to undertake that. Insurers will be the final arbiters of what can and can't happen in many areas of the economy.

Other international agreements (UN) cover the transport of goods including radio-isotopes.

If you want more detail, go to Richard North's website. He has been advocating Brexit for decades. If you want a lot of detail, download Flexcit from there. I warn you, it is about 400+ pages long but does cover every single aspect of leaving the EU. It is a pity that it wasn't mandatory reading for this Government.

And exactly what is your evidence for this other than hearsay?

No. We didn't want a deal. We wanted OUT. Incidentally, 'We' are the people who voted for exit, not those of you that still want to be tied hand and foot to the money wasting dinosaur that is the EU.

To be accurate I don't want to be tied to anyone but even if we left without a deal we'd have to follow WTO rules and EU ones if we want to sell to the world and the EU. I just don't see a sensible way forward out of this mess, whether you're a remainer or leaver, without a vote on the eventual deal.

It's clear the Government doesn't either or we'd have had a deal by now Very Happy

Why does nobody seem to realise Brexit has nothing to do with what "the people", "the majority" want? It's simply what the campaign leaders want for themselves - Farage did it for his own ego and the followers are doing it for their own pockets (who don't need it because they're already multi millionaires).

As an elderly, I don't expect to live long enough to witness all the disaster that's coming, I can only weep for all those who will suffer from it.

Humanity survives and prospers through cooperation, the apex of which is WORLD government. Why don't you all vote for independence for your own households? Will that solve the NHS? Would it have formed the NHS? Will it solve global warming? Will it get humanity off the planet when the planet dies? Does independence and devolution do the business? Oh, how I despair at the blindness, the shortsightedness, of it all.

Yes, look at Jacob Rees-Mogg. Wants a very hard Brexit but has opened a branch of his hedge fund company in Dublin to avoid the coming crisis. Shows how much faith he has and when questioned said it could take up to 50 years before we see the benefits of Brexit!!

Then perhaps the peeps who will benefit will have learned some manners and not be so self centred. Keep us in for the benefit of the millenials? They don't deserve it.
