We often run stories concerning speed cameras that have been set of fire or just generally vandalised, but it's rare that we come across a story that reports that the whole speed camera has been stolen!

Apparently a fixed device in Zambia has just disappeared - all that's left is its plinth.

According too Zambia Reports, "Unknown people have allegedly stolen one of the roadside cameras installed to monitor and detect traffic along Great East Road in Chainama."

Just like the one down the Fulham Palace Road in Hammersmith by Charing Cross Hospital.

All that's left of the Monitron is the black pole.

I don't know about the Hammersmith one, but I'm reliably informed the Zambia one was stolen by a troupe of monkeys to go with all the wiper blades and stuff they've nicked off other cars.

I’ve often wondered where the expression “monkey business” came from ....
