Hi
Confused Can you tell me if the hard drive in the iCN650 is a moving type simular to say a PC or is it more like a SanDisk with no moving parts, because if you have a hard drive like a PC or music CD in a car it would skip when you go over bumbs in the road.

Can you help

Thank you

Brian

It's a Micro-Drive (a Hard Drive), most likely CF Size. These devices are designed for such environments where they will experience jolts and bumps and don't skip.

The drive also is non-removable and non-user replaceable.

We pre-ordered from Expansys but they wouldn't complete the order without us photocopying a picture of the card used which isn't exactly wonderfully safe fraud wise is it.
When I last spoke to Navman on Monday, they didn't have a clue when it was actually coming out so we've ordered an iCN 510 from Navcity as they're the only ones who have it in stock that we've found so far. Should get it today by 12. 8)

Forgot to mention. Pre-order it from Dabs. They are only £621.

Nice one Thumbs Up
Let us know your first impressions.
I quoted Expansys as they were the only ones i could find last week that offered preordering.
Good to see prices are falling already.

It's sitting in the box on the table at the moment. It's going in the new car tomorrow along with the SE handsfree and OB2. :D

I've been watching this Dabs price with some disbelief. It's now £775. The icn 510 which was also listed low (£402 if I remember correctly) is now up.

This is the same as what happened at Expansys with the Garmin Quest. They say the price is guaranteed when the order is confirmed. They just don't confirm the order until the price has gone up.

If something seems too good to be true it's too good to be true.

DABS have had the price wrong. Strangely enough I've been monitoring it and they've changed the price 6 times on both the 510 and 650. The higher price you see now is the more realistic price!

Man went to buy an amplifier. 'How much is that?' he asked. '£500' he was told.
'They're only £400 up the road.'
'Buy one up the road, then'.
'They haven't got any.'
'Ours are only £300 when we haven't got any.'
