Did anyone ever find a complete solution to this problem? I'm still finding i have to re install every time I turn my car off, and all so have no sound.

Have you tired any Suzuki forums? Unfortunately, there are so many different manufactures out there that it can be difficult to advise, especially when we don't have a Suzuki sitting in front of us! Wink

Do you mean that they are fully deleted and that you have to re-install via an SD card or memory stick every time? Or the files are still there but you have to get the built-in SatNav to point to them again?

I would concentrate on getting the POIs loaded and their associated icons showing on the screen first. Once that's OK then voice/sound files are generally .wav, .mp3, or ogg files. Normally the files need to be exactly the same name (but different extensions) for everything to work together.

Thanks for the quick reply Privateer,

I have checked out a few forums and they are not clear either. It looks like I just need to update my infonav to get the POI to be saving when I turn the engine off mind which is a bonus.

I will keep trying and see where i end up.

Thanks

Hi taff_x,

As you may guess, I'm struggling in the dark here as I've no idea about your SatNav hardware.

I'm also concerned that you are losing the POI data every time that you switch off the engine. That implies that whilst you have transferred the data to you SatNav, you have save it in a volatile area and not a permanent area. So you need to check where you should save the data.

Here are some (very) general ideas:
1. The POI data may be .csv or .gpx but .csv is the best bet.
2. The .csv file will probably have three columns: Longitude, Latitude, Camera name. However if there are additional columns they may refer to speed, heading, directional (i.e. one or two-way), proximity, etc.
3. You may need files for each camera type and speed limit (possibly in 20s or 30s of files or you may need just one.
4. You will need icon files exactly the same same as the camera files but with .bmp Windows format (sizes may be 22x22, 24x24, 44x44)
5. Don't worry about sound until you get everything else working first.

It' unlikely that Suzuki have developed the SatNav unit themselves. So try and find out what the Suzuki system is i.e. who makes it and then google and search forums about that particular make and model SatNav.

I've googled for "Suzuki SatNav speed camera" and you may have a Garmin unit. Do you think that you have a Garmin unit? If so, which model?

Sorry, that's about all I can suggest at the moment without knowing the SatNav unit that you have.

Please keep us posted on your findings.

Regards,

You are correct suzuki have not developed their own Sat Nav. They use a bosch unit, loaded with HERE maps.

On reading the user manual it looks like as you suggested it uses .csv format but it can only handle one file as warning POI.

I looked on your web site for bosch or suzuki and both and not available for installation instructions. It has been suggested some where to use the Nissan connect download mind.

I will prep the info onto a USB as suggested in the user manual and trial it in the car tomorrow as may of had a beer or two so can't drive now.

May I suggest that you initially try the following download:

Other - CSV
UK - Single file with all cameras

I haven't tried it but it should contain enough information to at least test.
