Hi guys,

Is there a standalone unit which I can use purely for speedcam detection using this database.

I have a nav unit built in, & I run the Thinkware F770 dash cams. I'm in & out of the van all day so it is a bind to constantly turn the phone on, plug it in for charging & use the speedcam app.

I am wondering if there is a system out there, something like a speed detector which gives a display, which will allow use of the database.

Might be a wish too far but you never know. I want something that will sit permanently in the van.

Cheers

Had you thought of getting a Satnav unit and stick the database on it? A second hand Garmin would most likely be the best choice, or even a cheap as chips Chinese one off eBay.

I went for a LMT-D Garmin to benefit from the excellent digital traffic as well.

If your in and out of a van all day and worried about theft, I know it's expensive, but have a look at the latest Garmin drive units as one of them has a magnetic mount so it would only take seconds to mount and unmount the unit.

Me too, I went from a Tom Tom Go730 to a Drive Luxe50. Love the magnetic mount on that! Wink
