The Garmin nuvicam comes with the traffic antenna.
If I got the GTM 70 could I do away with the traffic antenna?

Not sure why you're suggesting this. Using the cable supplied is far better than using a GTM cable.

Instead of having the power and antenna cables connected I would only need one cable connected, the gtm70?

I can understand your issue. That's why I didn't get one. Once the real owner reviews of the new DriveAssist unit are published I may get one as they apparently now just have the TA cable

I got the drive assist 50 but I'm not impressed with a couple of things.
The screen lacks the vibrancy of the 6" nuvicam and the build quality is pretty poor.It looks and feels like a £30 nozatec off eBay.
Regarding the 6" nuvicam would the gtm70 replace the existing antenna and power cable?

So build quality of the latest units not that clever then.

This is why I'm hanging on for real reviews.

It certainly is not worth the £280 I paid for it.
Looks like I will be sending it back for something else.

Yes Sad

The advantage I was looking for was a single easy to remove unit when parking. Currently I have 2 units to remove and the Nextbase isn't that easy.

The 2599 is a doddle to remove and with the Garmin dashmount is completely removed and concealed with a microfibre I carry around.

I have a Nextbase 402G and it was very stiff to remove originally but a very small amount of silicone grease cured that. Carefully applied furniture polish may do the same.

I've cut off that plastic spring tab. That has made it easier and with the friction it's not going to go anywhere during motion.

It's with it being behind the mirror that makes it awkward. Anywhere else and it sticks out like a sore thumb.
