It's not a new version. Apple pulled it from the AppStore and then reinstated it the day after... :/ I guess this flags it on devices as being an update

I'm sure it came up as an update that allowed switching from km to miles. Thought it was funny!

The "new" version that appeared on the App Store over the weekend gained an "i" button on the bottom menu bar between the camera and musical note icons... The "i" gives you a screen of mph to kmh equivalents.

I'm guessing this was a test release to see if Apple would approve it based on some new response that the guys have received from the ongoing saga. Hopefully this bodes well for more releases with more fixes and features :D

...ah, my apologies - yes, this is an update then.

The (i) button to convert KM t Miles was a requirement of Apple to add other functionality instead of just being an 'illegal' speed camera app...

Be great if you could fix the issue with audio being lost after receiving a phone call. This is a great app otherwise.

There are many things you could call this requirement from Apple, but I guess that is the pain we will have to bear.

@MaFt thanks for the update.

Are we correct in assuming more updates should follow now?

As already mentioned, by DavidIr, if that's what it takes to make Apple happy then so be it. But surely wherever you're driving i.e. your home country or a foreign one, you automatically work with the unit of measure (miles or KM) of the local country, set your SatNav (and CamerAlert) to the unit of measure, and if your vehicle has a speedometer with both units of measure then you use the appropriate scale.

Or is the above too difficult for Apple to understand? Rolling Eyes

I live in the UK (drive on the left and use Miles) but I've also driven in Australia (drive on the left and use KM) and just recently I've driven a UK registered RHD vehicle in France (drive on the Right and use KM). I consider myself a novice when it comes to driving in a foreign country, especially when you drive on the "wrong" side of the road but the one thing that wasn't a problem was speed limits.

Regards,

So it just had to be something that wasn't a speed camera function. I guess that the compass would have done, but presumably Apple needed a victory so something new had to be added.

Yes the app is still for download.

But its out-of-date, it shows 'Average speed cameras' that have not been in operation or in position since 2011 in my area.

Thanks,

But not for an non-paid member.

My comment was meant as to let others know that this not a up-dated version, unless done so with paid membership.
