How do speed warnings work?

Hi, I am new to this and have it on my Kenwood unit using Garmin. First use I was driving down a 30 limit road and every 30 seconds was getting 19mph speed warning. It seemed to tie in with 20mph side roads as I approached them. How do you turn this off? I also got a 43mph speed warning as I approached a motorway junction on the M27. Does it seriously give warnings for roads that cross the one you are on even if you cant turn on to that road???
There must be some sort of setup screen to adjust what sort of warnings you get?
Hope someone can help or explain otherwise it looks like I have wasted my money!!

That sounds to me like you've used the default kilometers instead of feet and mph in POILoader.

Presumably you are talking about the camera alerts from PGPSW. 19MPH is 30 KPH and 43MPH is 70KPH. As Kremmen said, you have set Km instead of Miles/feet in POI Loader.
