before i shell out for another year's live services:
does this unit which has lifetime maps and 3 years live services work with this site's speed cams and also allow custom poi's?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/TomTom-LIVE-1005-HDT-discountinued/dp/B009UVXS40/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1436691361&sr=8-3&keywords=tomtom+live+services

i'm very confused now for which does which and the 3 years live services alone will pay for this unit over the time.

many thanks.

The 1005, a Nav3 device, always allowed for custom pois, Tony.

You might like to check with the vendor about the Live Services - they are shown as Used devices and you as a second user might not get the live services. (Maps will be OK because they'll simply go with the unit).

thanks for that pointer dennis.
i took a screen grab of the amazon page showing it comes with 3 years hd traffic (not the rest of live services apparently, judging by a recenet review!), so hopefully if there was an issue the screen grab could be used as evidence?

If you look further down the page at the details, it says, Traffic, Searches with TomTom Places (that's the very poor TT version of Google search), Speed Cameras. It also mentions Live Services, so I reckon you get them providing the previous ownership doesn't mess it up. On reflection, of course, the other services are so poor that only the Traffic is worth having.

spot on dennis.
i only use the traffic feature, which is why £47.50 sticks in the throat. i did in the end bite the bullet and renew the Live services on my old device for the discounted price of £28.50 that someone kindly posted up a 40% discount code for.

Think yourself lucky! When it first came out it cost £80. Mind you, it worked then. Mr. Green
