Bluetooth, Alerts and Media Playback Paused

Recently got a new Mokka SE and with CD 600 IntelliLink system. Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5, paired through Bluetooth. I listen to downloaded podcasts while driving, using BeyondPod or Pocket Casts.

When CameraAlert warns me of a nearby camera, the playback of the podcast is paused for the alert, then resumes afterwards. However, often the CD 600 screen still shows that playback is paused. BeyondPod/PocketCasts has resumed playback, I just can't hear it. When this happens, I have to use the app on the phone to manually pause the podcast and then resume playback. The CD 600 system will then recognise playback has resumed and let me hear the podcast. (Not something I want to while driving, so it's very inconvenient.)

I don't think it's specifically a CameraAlert app issue, but I'm hoping someone else might have experienced this and know a fix?

The (unsatisfactory) workaround I've found is that in Pocket Casts, there is an option to continue playing the pod cast through a notification. However, I then miss whatever was being said.
