Hello,

Could I please ask whomever updates the POIs to make 2 changes?
1] Remove the Fish&Chip shop at 51.42689N, 2.85972W. This site has now closed for redevelopment.
2] Modify the location of the Castle Court branch of Sainsbury's, which is wrongly given as 51.4459N; 2.55133W (also shown exactly as the site of M&M Plaice, fish and chip shop), to 51.44394N; -2.55878W. Due to the road layout (Bloomfield Road has been dissected) the given site is some half a mile drive from the true position.

Many thanks,

Dabri

Hi,

The easiest way is to submit these changes on the map here: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=POIs&ShowSubmit

You'll need to search by coordinates or manually zoom in on the map as the search function is broked at the moment.

Hi Matt,
Thank you for the link. Unfortunately, I am having problems communicating with the POI map interface. Specifically, clicking on the existing Sainsbury icon is not transferring the icon ID (44695) to the appropriate box. Neither will the POI Id box allow me to type in directly. Please advise.

After you click on the POI icon you need to click on the number link under the Find Location button
i.e.

Snax 24 Wessington Way (Fuel - BP) ID:88782

Click on the number 88782 and it'll populate the information

if you click on the POI icon on the map, you should see a line of text appear immediately above the map, and below the Find Location button - e.g. "M & M Plaice (Food & Drink - Fish & Chips) ID:102565"

The ID number in this text contains the link to pre-fill the data on the page, which then allows you to edit and re-submit it.

Edit: Paul beat me to it!

For info, all this will be simplified (like on the camera map submission) in the near future when I update it all. We just wanted to concentrate on getting the server move over before sorting this out Smile

Glad it's sorted anyway, I would have done it for you but it's better to teach a man to fish than to buy them a McDonalds. Or something... :/

Hi Matt, I have just tried to request an icon removal using the map, but I am having a problem with it. On the map I zoom onto the appropriate icon (St Mellons SS; Texaco (Fuel) and click on it. An identifying box opens with two options ([edit this poi] and [request removal. So far so good. Clicking on the latter takes me to the information boxes. UK is already filled in - good. When I select 'Request Removal of POI' from the menu I get 'You must select a POI icon from map to change or remove'. Am I missing something? The relevant icon took me to the information boxes in the first place. By the way the fuel pumps appear to be long gone from this site.

You just need to click on '[request removal]' on the pop up on the map. This will fill out the form for you. It looks like you are manually changing the 'action' drop-down box?

But then you don't need to do anything in the Action Box, as you've already made the decision on what you want to do.

You could, if you wish, make a comment (in the Comments Box), about why you would like it removed. Then select Submit Entry.

Job done.

Are you both referring to POI ID:61026, located at 51.52537, -3.11203 Question
