I believe TomTom have intimated that support for 3rd Party POIs will be coming in a future update. But there is no time scale on when this will be.

Very disappointing that they saw fit to release a new device without such support, especially after the furore that resulted when they did the same with the 1000-series.

But then TomTom seem hell bent on eschewing all the openness they used to be lauded for.

Which is exactly why DennisN advised the OP to ask TT but didn't spell it out quite as succinctly. Wink

In the last survey I got from them they seemed to give camera information a lot of attention.

Indeed, but none of this attention has been reflected in the quality of the data. This type of service simply can't be automated, there is no replacement for a human verifier and data manager.

Most of our customers recognise this thankfully!

I've not read about TT's camera processing [ever?], but they seem to rely on users' information, and don't have a verification process. This is perhaps why all their info seems to be in the 'general camera' category. As I've said before their only unique aspect is redlight cameras which seem to be accurate - you could guess why....

Because I assume there is a database of their locations available fairly easily, and they don't seem to need much updating as the locations don't change much.

Edit: probably a small number of them compared to other cameras.

The user's information is flawed too, because of the lousy user interface. On the 1005 at least, the Is this camera still here? question disappears as soon as you pass the camera, so only way to respond Y/N is to do it BEFORE you know what the correct answer is/will be! And if you touch the screen (for some other reason, such as navigation) near/on the camera icon then there is no way out of that Y/N screen except by saying Y/N. No cancel and no timeout. So only option is to punt. But it all goes back as data.
