Huh. You couldn't get much further away from me and still call yourself Bristol, could you?

Let's exchange PMs and phone calls soon.

Eureka! Smile

I had an idea. I put the SD card back into the PC and moved all the POI sounds from the directory with the .ov2 and .bmp files into the separate sounds directory which had a few .wav's in it.

I then put the card back in the carminat and manually associated each sound with each POI.

That seemed to work OK. The sounds were read out to me and I was asked whether I wanted that sound as the alert.

It took quite a while. Made more difficult by the fact that the only visible part of the sound name was identical for each sound (pocketgps), so I had to do it a bit by trial and error.

Also, many thanks for Dennis for spending ages on the phone this morning helping me out. Smile

When you use that method, we suggest before copying files across, you rename them - Gatso20.ogg, Gatso30.ogg, etc, to make it easier to use them. It would be worth your while to actually do that and replace them so that you have them easier for any future time when you might have to do the warnings again (it happens, with TT). It does, of course mean reallocating the sounds in Warn when near POI. One way to rename them would probably be to COPY them and rename the copies in case you have a dumbo moment.

That method does not require the Ogg files to have the identical name of the cameras.

They will remain in the sounds folder and your warning settings will be kept ready for next time you download the cameras (every Wednesday night, or Thursday morning). Also, next time, you will choose not to download sound files.

Remember, once you've got it sorted, do a Windows Explorer copy backup.

Yup, renaming them beforehand would have been a brighter idea. However, I was so happy that something was actually working right, I rushed ahead anyways Smile

Thanks.
