Which files to download on my garmin

Is there any advantage to download the uk speed zoned database to the type database on my new garmin.

On my old one I just had the type database installed and had no problems but am wondering about if the speed zoned is any better or no different as watching the installation video the speed zoned version is used.

On a Garmin the only difference between the Speed Zoned and the Consolidated is the icon you get on the screen.

Garmin use data in the file to give the speed-related warning so regardless of database type you get alerted at the camera's speed. Other systems, such as TomTom, do not use the speed info from in the file so they need the speed zoned files to be able to set different distances per speed for the warnings.

With the Garmin the only advantage of using the speed zoned file is you get a speed limit icon (30, 40, 50) on the screen instead of the camera icon. Either way you get the speed-based alert.
