In practice, you rarely have enough time to delve into the sub menus of the unit and drive at the same time! So it's a bit of a waste of time. Smile
No it's not. When you are sitting parked in your drive, you can scroll around the map, find the cam on the map, tap the map to select the cam and then set the direction of that cam. Try this on a few cams and see if they have a single direction arrow (or a two headed direction arrow). If they all indicate non directional (four headed arrow on iGO 8 and I can't remember what it's like on Primo but it's obviously an icon that indicates the cam is not directional).

Are you sure that you still don't have a copy of the SCDB database on your device as well as the PGPSW database? Zoom in on a few cams and make sure that the Alpine is not showing two cams at that location in slightly different positions? Remember that the SCDB database does not have mobile cams in it.

Do you have any mobile cams displayed confirming that you do indeed have the PGPSW database loaded?

If you have two or more .txt files in the system, both the SCDB AND the PGPSW databases, iGO will compile them both and give you two cams at more or less the same location, but most of them are slightly, if not several tens of yards different.

When you have loaded the PGPSW database, does iGO 'hang' for a few seconds when starting, with the message "Initializing safety warning data" (or some such) at the bottom of the screen confirming that you have successfully loaded a new .txt file and it is being imported?

Thanks for that. It's a good point about scrolling the map once one is parked up Smile

I am not getting any double cameras. The 928 has a single .txt file that it uses. Here is the folder tree of the SD card used to update the unit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there can only be one "SpeedCamText.txt" file?

I do get mobile cameras. Interestingly, I had my iPhone operating at the same time (it has the PGPSW database), and it was working in an idential manner to the 928. I wanted to cross-check that all was well with the 928....

The message I get once the database is loaded is:

(I should mention for those with a W92xR device that this screen message appears even if you have had the Nav screen appear during the upload - and hence you have not got a 100% clean installation)

Hopefully Alpine will update their Firmware to resolve the loading 'bug'.

Thanks Smile

If CA alerts you in both directions, then the cam is in the database as reversible. Find a can that CA only alerts to in one direction and see if the Alpine does the same.

The point that I was making about two files was referring to the device, not the SD card. Providing the SCDB database used exactly the same filename, the PGPSW one should overwrite it OK. If you have two files of different names ON THE DEVICE iGO will concatenate them as one cam database file.
