I have noticed in the past that my 940 does not show exactly the same local issues as the web traffic page.
I have also noticed when driving with 2 TT devices that the TT Traffic over GPRS was significantly different to the HD Traffic info on the M25 when there were hold ups.

| If you have an iPhone on iOS6, have a look at its traffic at the same time. It should have the same data, and is generally good as far as I can see. |

Just renewed mine yesterday instead of buying a newer unit (i have 540 live).
Only really want live for traffic but wasn't going to pay £49 for it! |

| I renewed mine a month or two ago and though it might be two or three weeks between using it I still reckon it's good value - anything that minimises the time I spend sat in traffic jams is. At £28 it's an absolute bargain and, perhaps unusually given the experiences of some, when I've been driving to Kent and back in the last few weeks it's performed faultlessly. |

My existing live services expired a couple of months ago and i went back to my tmc. Pleased to be back onto HD as much better. |

I hate to be cynical, but I wonder if they are trying to regain some of the customers who have been brassed off by all the recent outages and the replacement of Google Search by the inferior TT equivalent 
Had it not been for this reduction, they would certainly have lost my custom...

Same here.
Not long ago they send me an email about not renewing, and one of the questions was how much would i pay for the services.
i replied with no more than £30.
Most people might have said the same at the time. |

Perhaps it's TomTom's way of saying sorry and giving something back to their customers. |

When I renewed mine yesterday the assistant volunteered the information that as more people are buying and using the service they were able to negotiate a better price from their third paty suppliers. I'm not sure how many third party suppliers are involved but it does make sense. I guess they pay a lup sum figure which reduces the overheads per customer to TT.Or am I just too trusting?

You are just too trusting!!
If they were making so much on it, why don't they improve (sorry, why don't they fix/cure) it, i.e. the range, by negotiating with their third party suppliers for more capacity on the servers or whatever it is that strangles the range. Considering I first bought Live Services at the original price of £80/year, I would be entirely happy to pay £47.50/year for the service to resume its capabilities at what they were when I first bought it.

| What Dennis said. This is not a supplier related thing. They are testing the market for prices, and of course also making it low at a time when a lot of personal users are going to be travelling about. Or buying new Satnavs, and thus will see a low price for renewal as good. The price can go up again any time. Heck, if I had the whole country of traffic back on the satnav again I'd pay £80/year again. I wish they'd tier it. |

It looks like it was, i just went to get it for my 750 live and its back to £47.50, will I be paying this much, I dont think so. |
