The latest statement I have seen from TomTom staff is that ALL Live devices now update cameras Over The Air - from which we should assume that Home is now only used to download cameras to the poor innocent souls who buy the cameras for pre-Live devices.

As I said above, there is no evidence that cameras HAVE been updated OTA and my 550 only (and ALWAYS) says...
Quote:
Last mobile speed camera update
Speed cameras up to date

Note it says MOBILE camera update, not ALL speed camera update.
Bearing in mind I don't at present have a connection to the Live Server, if I hadn't used my 550 for a week, I suspect it would still say they are up to date before I connect to the server. Why they can't put a date/time stamp there is beyond my comprehension - I'm just a stupid old man, not a modern computer geek.

And I'm sure somebody else has already said this about OTA - I guess it's easy enough to download and add a camera, but how easy is it to delete one? Again, SOM, not geek.

Do ALL the TomTom UK Safety Camera updates for the Live PND's that use Home now come OTA?
Why don't you ask TT yet again and be absolutely specific about the camera type that you are asking about so that it will be difficult for TT not to answer. Crying or Very sad Problem seems to be that you will get yet another contradictory answer from the same person. Rolling Eyes

Recently I have had problems booting up with my 750 live restarting continuously on two occasions. My Father had the same fault with his same model and he reformatted internal memory and replaced with back up to fix. I did the same the first time.

After the second time I did a search and found a fix was to delete the "fixed.cam" file from the statdata folder. I decided to replace the folder with a copy from back up.

This was a much quicker fix and now wondering if there is a link with the recent updates over the air.

John.

x50 devices have suffered the rebooting problem all their lives. All the temporary fixes work until it starts again! It long pre-dates this OTA farce.

Although "brave" is not the attribute I'd attribute to anyone relying on them. Rolling Eyes

No, I never use the TT speed cameras. I know how duff they are Very Happy

I'm just astonished how the same TT CS Rep can tell me one thing in one e-mail, and then totally contradict it in a later e-mail.

If the people working at customer services can't tell you what their hardware can and can't do then what hope have they got of convincing the customers about their products?

I'm not sure if there is anyway at all to tell if the Tomtom devices actually get any updates at all over the air. It's something I'm not competent to prove one way or the other.

I do know that I wouldn't risk my driving licence based upon hoping my 550 bleeps at me at the right time Laughing

That's UNBELIEVABLE!!! I honestly can't imagine how you could go out and pay good money for something without getting their recommendations. If you HAD spoken to them first, they'd have told you how good it is. You're a peasant!! Stop it!
