Hi everyone.
I am looking to purchase the road angel gem however am a little worried I have been told the warning for mobile sites is set at 500 meters and unlike static speed cameras the distance can not be increased.

I guess I'm just a little annoyed great gadget I want to purchase but with warnings set at 500 meters, I can see it being as useful as a laser detector.(ok not that bad but still pretty poor:have seen numerous posts people getting nicked at 800ft +

Has anyone got experience with modifying/hacking a road angel device to increase warning distances?

May end up getting a pogo alert however I love the idea behind the road angel gym not having to be connected to a pc to download the latest updates

500m = 547ys=1640ft (approx), twice what you say people have been caught at. Having said that, the LTI 20-20 has a max range of 999m, but I suspect thet it would be extremely difficult to use it at anywhere near that distance unless on a tripod.

All that money? I wonder how good their data is compared with ours?

Start the research by reading the post before yours.
