nuvi 2595LMT USA and Europe lifetime maps

currently have a tomtom one with Europe maps. I am spending more and more time in the US and considering buying a new GPS. (the one is basic).

whilst I could buy a new US map for the tomtom (£35). I only have enough space for one map at a time.

I like the look of the nuvi 2595, as it comes with lane assist and lifetime map updates. Is the lane assist worth it? And more importantly can I get both the Europe and USA lifetime maps for it at the same time?

I can buy either USA or Europe but not both at the same time. Although the garmin website says I can buy the maps separately, it seems to indicate I can't change the original map the unit came with? Also i don't want to buy the map twice.

what are my options?

Check out the prices in the US at Best Buy and the other big stores and get a US only device.

I bought a Nuvi 775T several years a go and that had both NA and European maps on it looking at Garmin's product list there does not appear to be a modern equivalent.

Have you written or spoken to the Garmin sales people to see what they suggest?

cheers - think buying in the US will be the best option. Walmart sell lots of refurbed models so will take a look.
