My SGII is on ICS and I've had no such issues.

We have three Galaxy S2s in the house and they all have the same battery problem with ICS.

And herein lies another issue with Android. There is ICS as Google release it, then there is ICS that has been tweaked by handset manufacturers, and finally there is the adulterated version as delivered by the phone service provider.

It makes identifying the cause of issues such as this an absolute nightmare.

My SGII is running a stock Samsung ICS update with no carrier tweaks and it has been rock solid.

My Official version of ICS is XXLPQ. I tried to update to an official XWLP7 release which made the phone unstable, so I restored my Nandroid XXLPQ backup. I've got no issues with battery life on the phone.

Since restoring I'm having issues with CamerAlert crashing (especially when I had CoPilot Live selected to open as well). I uninstalled and and re-installed without CoPilot, so I'll see how it goes today. I did send some crash reports, but didn't want to keep submitting them. If you didn't receive them yesterday, let me know.

I also cannot get the audio alerts to work when phone is connected to my Ford Bluetooth. I've selected the 'Enforce Speakerphone' option, but I don't get any warnings, even the one about the database being out of date. CoPilot Live works fine through the speakerphone. The Bluetooth connection is not set up to be used as a media device.

This is something we're looking into at moment.

Cheers MaFt,

Going to rebuild phone with newer official ICS over weekend to see if I can cure the other problems. Had problems re-installing some apps without removing external SD Card, so something isn't quite right and CamerAlert was quite happy up to when I started meddling :-)

Updated ny HTC Sensation on O2 via Google Play last week. Absolutely no problems with CamerAlert whatsover since then.

Works flawlessly and the database updates come through correctly as well.

My phone is on Contract and is still non-rooted.

FWIW I used Cameralert on my HTC Desire (the original model), under ICS 4.0.4 (Sandvold Beta .0.6.1) and it performed faultlessly.

Mind you, I have just reflashed the phone with beta 0.6.1.1 for the third time in as many days and now I have too many linked devices, but that's another story.

I have only just downloaded CamerAlert to my S2 after downloading ICS. No problems with mine, and I have to say, a great app Smile

I rebuilt my phone over the weekend, and now have the following ICS stock (rooted) version.

XWLP7

I have been getting crashes again , which I now believe to be caused by the bluetooth connection. I'll start another thread to list what I've done.

I have been having problems with the software as well, hopefully my crash reports (if they went OK) will help.

The phone is a HTC ONE X on Orange UK with the latest ICS update from them, and with the latest camera app it crashed as soon as you tried to run the software.

As an experiment I installed a previous version from a backup APK , V1.3.4.533 and that runs perfectly I have (NOW) just re installed the version off the play shop V1.3.6.600 and it hasn't crashed yet.

It crashed either when it was run with Google navigator or just on its own.

Not sure if that is of any help but it is a very good app and I would like to see it get even better.

My Samsung SII won't download the current database. It was fine before I installed ICS. I have tried rebooting, uninstalling CamerAlert and reinstalling. it is linked to my membership of CA but still says "Take care, you are not using the latest database, please update' when i try to update it just flashes something very quickly (which I can't see) and goes back to the update screen (without updating). Not sure where to go from here, any advice??

There is a setting/option somewhere in ICS that allows the operating system to stop/kill background processes. I think it is this that is stopping the download.

I'm just trying to find where the setting is!!

found it:

Can you check a setting on your phone for me?

Under settings there is a development options tab, in which there is a check box for "don't keep activities" (destroy every activity as soon as user leaves it).

If that is checked, can you uncheck it and retest?
