What is with these Tomtoms - This is the third TT I've had in 18 mths that this has happened to: I had to make an emergency run of 110 miles to Kent this morning. The 750 was fine for the first 50 miles then it locked up. It tried to reset itself several times with no success. I switched it off, left it for 10 mins and turned it back on again. It reset its self a couple of times then started to work for 5 mins and again locked up. On my return journey it only worked for 2 mins before locking up, so I turned it off. When it resets I get the yellow line across the bottom, sometimes it will get as far as opening the map up before it freezes again. I'm getting plenty of Sats at the point of it freezing. Anyone have any suggestions or are all these TT's rubbish? _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map

A couple of things you could try...
1.
Delete the MapSettings.cfg file, let it create a fresh one and enter your Favourites and POI warnings etc. again manually.
By far the most times I've had re-booting problems on x40and x50 models is after I've tried to re-use an old MapSettings.cfg.
It has SEEMED to work, but has then caused intermittent or occasional re-booting issues afterwards.
2.
Ensure you have a complete and backup of your current system, delete everything off the TomTom and re-format it, then copy everything back on again. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Thanks Andy - I've now done both, but its going to be a couple of weeks before I'm going to do a long run. I'll take it to work for a couple of days, its only 6 miles, but who knows. _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map

Follow up:
I've now done 3 runs of around 100 miles and it hasn't missed a beat. _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map
