Living on the South Coast we have less choices of directions one can travel.

For years I have been updating on my various TT devices that you can turn right at the following junction where the turn has always been permitted.

Even if you plan a route online using the TT planner it takes you further into Newhaven than required but if you reverse the route it will take the more logical route (from Seaford BTW).

Route (Seaford to Lewes)

Reverse Route (Lewes to Seaford)

Is there any other way to get them to correct the map errors and lastly does Mapshare actually work yet on 10xx models?

Many thanks

Have you tried the new MapShare Reporter website.

They have not advertised it very well, but corrections made there do seem to be getting actioned quite quickly.

As for whether MapShare is working on the Go1000 yet:

You CAN make your own corrections on your own device
They AREN'T being upload to TomTom
You CAN'T download corrections from others.
I'm NOT SURE if your own corrections are getting carried over on a map update.

It's a good job car munufacturers don't work to the same ethos as TomTom:

"We're releasing a new range of cars which are much better with loads more features, unfortunately most of them don't work but bare with us & we hope to get them working in a few years - maybe!!" Shocked

Many thanks, my correction is "Pending".

Odd that it does not use the same correction tools as per on the device for marking the error.

The BIG improvement on it is that you can block a road at a single point.
Most of the corrections I want to make are for roads with barriers or gates across them,
and up 'til now MapShare has been useless for that.

My two map corrections now say "Accepted"

Still incorrect on the TT Web Route Planner and I guess a wait for new maps to see if the change is applied...

I found that the changes to the M4 at J11 were on the device maps long before they made it to the TomTom web planner. Not sure why that is as you'd think the web planner would be only one thing to update rather than many devices!

Hi,

the map being used for the online Route Planner tool as well as the Map Share Reporter tool is usually one version behind the latest released one. So at the moment the map being used on their website is v880 but the one being released is v885.

@HummerUK: The map corrections you made won't be in the currently latest map as that map got released mid of February. The next map will be published around mid of May and the one afterwards mid of August. It might be that your correction will be implemented in the next update but I think it is more probable that it'll be included in the second next update.

As TT is currently trying to further improve the Map Share Reporter tool it could be as it has been requested that you'll see more information like i.e. when the correction will be implemented in the future. I don't know though if nor when that'll be implemented.

Regards
Lars.
