the question of using it with my Garmin Street Pilot ver 2 app remains

on startup also run Garmin (and if CameraAlert integrates with it), there is no listing for Garmin :-(

Because the Garmin app has not support for being launched by another app in this manner. We can only offer 'Also Run' for apps that support launching via a custom URL. Sadly, Garmin don't.

iTunes links to the website for support which has the manual on it.

As for the 'auto-start' for Garmin we can only include apps that have a 'custom url scheme' - if they don't have one available then there's absolutely nothing we can do!

If an app has a 'share location by email' (or similar) option then this will usually give away what the custom url scheme is.

Maybe I'll think about an iphone next time then - if I can afford the extra £10-15pm (£120-180pa Shocked )

How about this solution -

1)Wait until current contract expires
2)Buy Iphone 4 from Ebay - lots available as people upgraded to 4s
3)Switch provider to Giffgaff - works on O2 network - various packages available eg 250 mins , unlimited texts, unlimited internet access @ £10 per month. You can change the package each month if required. No contract.
4)Request MAC code from your current provider to port your existing number across.

I did the maths and it was cheaper for me to buy a new Iphone 4s from the Apple Store and switch to Giffgaff, than to continue with Vodafone on their Iphone contracts.
If I want to upgrade the phone. or switch phone manufacturer, I can always sell the Iphone on ebay and recoup a good part of the cost.

Check out the Giffgaff website www.giffgaff.co.uk

Quite a few of us here have GiffGaff SIMs. Unlimited data, unlimited texts and 250mins of calls for the price of a £10 Goodybag top up each month is a bargain.

Me too, plus once my mum, sister and girlfriend finish their contracts, they are all moving to giffgaff too!

Street Pilot On Demand is a USA-only app with off-board mapping - it's a separate app (with different features) to the normal StreetPilot App unfortunately Sad

According to our system you have downloaded the one free update already? Time sat 14:58hrs.

I've reset it so you can update once again.

Sound like an issue with your data connection, you don't need to be plugged into a computer but you do need a data connection, either 3G or WiFi.

I've reset it again.
