Hi All

Just defected from rival GPS- very happy with Active 10 - can anyone advice on Satmap producing a turn by turn Sat Nav for drivers? The unit does have a speaker option. But not sure about logistics or licence issues Wink

Hi stevsmiler glad your happy with your A10 I think most of us are.

As for turn by turn navigation as in car SatNavs I don't think you are going to be lucky as it does not work on vector maps and so the only way I could see this working is if you plotted the route in advance with a waypoint at every road junction. Even then, I believe the basic software would need some more changes. I assume this was not what you had in mind.

However I may be wrong and a wiser voice may come and advise you how to do it. Fingers crossed. ;-)

Oh and there was nothing cheeky about your question.

Thanks LostMike

My 'other' unit was able to take the snooper system (you have probably guess it by now) by just inserting a memory card with its sat nav software included. But I can live without it. A clear case me just being greedy. Wink

The only thing that was cheeky is that the Subject of the question gave no idea of what the question was about other than it was from a newbie Very Happy Very Happy

Whilst currently there is no way to get it to speak the route as a normal satnav, even though it has a speaker you would never hear it as it stands, there is a nice little feature that allows you to generate directions on Google Maps or Earth and then import the route along with the directions directly into Satmap via satsync.

I've only done it in google maps and it works a treat.

1) In google maps enter the start and end point of your journey
2) click get directions
3) then click on the link icon
4) copy the the url link, the one that start http://
5) Open satsync and connect satmap
6) Click on the earth icon
7) paste the link and your route will be imported

It is quite nifty but the directions are not that clear as the box on screen is limited in space.

Gibbo
Wow - that really works.
A function I didn't know existed, but will get well used in future.
Thanks
