I'm currently an iPhone user using MotionX GPS.
I use this app to record delivery routes (I'm a truck driver). I'm taken out on a route by another driver to learn it, I record the routes using this app and store them as GPX files.
When I need to do the run myself, I load the GPX file into MotionX & "follow" the track.
This is preferable to just using a GPS nav as I know the route is suitable for my vehicle, etc.
I want to switch to Android, but can't find an app that will replace this functionality that MotionX has.
Anything out there worth considering.
BTW, it must be able to cache or save the maps for offline use (some areas I deliver to barely have electricity, let alone a reliable 3G signal!
I use OsmAnd (see my signature for a link) on my Android. One of it's features to to route following a previously stored GPX track, it can follow the reverse route too.
There may be other apps which also have this feature, see this web page for a few more choices:-
Please let us know how you got on. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
