The .bmp images with the Sygic Speedcam downloads for Sygic need to be changed - Sygic uses square 100x100 images, either 8 bit or 32 bit bmp format.

Also, the UK Consolidated SpeedCam data loads ok into Sygic (after using the Sygic POI Converter), but the Europe SpeedCam data causes a load failure error in Sygic.

Any ideas why this error is happening?

Cheers.

the current images work fine for me. where do you get the 100x100 size from? that seems pretty large!

does the upi / rupi convertor give any error with the europe cams? any line number or anything like that?

The POI size of 100x100 is from the Sygic website.

There are no poi conversion errors with conversion software - the problem is when trying to install them...

Guess this could mean a Sygic error?

The error on importing Europe Speed Cams seems to be that with Sygic you can only import POIs for maps you have active...

So, as I have UK, France and Italy only I can't use the Pocket GPS Speed Cams for Europe, as they need maps within Europe I don't have!

Sad

We need the Europe Speed Cam data base to be split into separate countries.

What it says on Sygic:

Quote:
The icon (.bmp file) should be in square format e.g. 100x100px. If the icon is too big or too small, it will be adjusted automatically by the app.
The icon should be either 8 bit or 32 bit bmp format

The bit about the software adjusting it automatically is wrong, to a certain extent.

These icons are used in two ways by Sygic. First they show on the map in the position of the camera, but that is always small and that does not change with file size. The second way is that they also appear in a separate pop up box with a count down of the number of yards away they are. It is this part that does not work automatically - the size of the icons depends upon the size of the file and is too small for what I am using (some 44 x44 ones I found).

I think the pop up box is a very good feature if only I could get the icon to fill its box.

MaFt, what are the countries covered in the Euro SpeedCam Database?
I will need to get all the countries for now to enable the database to install.

Also, I have found 88 x 88 px icons to be the best seize overall for Sygic.

You can find the info by clicking on "download speed cameras" then clicking on "Click here to see a full breakdown of both UK and International cameras in the current database".

I agree with previous post. Sygic will not accept a Europe wide database. Only individual countries. UK works a treat but can't get any cameras installed for Spain. I guess that's a pain in Spain (groan).
Might have to start saving for the TomTom Android app. (if and when it ever arrives) unless the wizards here can sort a fix.

Hmm - will have to look into that. Not sure there'll be any easy way to do it :/
