Strange FASTEST route to France.

Set a route from Home to Brillon, France which routes the fastest via Dover - Calais Ferry. 3:54 hrs 161 miles. No delays but 3.2 miles of lane closed on M2, J4 to J5.

Set a via Channel Tunnel. Result 3:04 hrs 168 miles. With 110 yards of roadworks on the M20.

STRANGE FASTEST ROUTE as previous TT and iGO always routed via the Channel Tunnel automatically.

I can't recreate that...

I planned a route from Rainham (Gillingham) - (as the TomTom called it)
to Brillon, France, and it reckoned 3:09 hours 168 miles and went via the tunnel (although it called it a ferry in the "Do you want to avoid tolls?" screen)
Traffic was 2 minutes for "busy roads" and 110yds of roadworks on the M20 at J9
That's on a Go940 LIVE running v870 Europe maps

Just tried again Andy still routed via Dover - Calais Ferry.

Always plan fastest route.
Avoid Motorways - No.
Never avoid Toll roads.
Never avoid Ferries.
Always avoid Car Pool lanes.
Always avoid unpaved roads.

Map: 'Europe' v865.3243. Release date: 3/2011

It gets 'better'.......

Same route as before, same result, routes via Dover - Calais Ferry - 3:56 and 161 miles.

So AVOID Dover - Calais Ferry. and it re-routes via Dover -Dunkirk 4:35 and 161 miles.

Avoid Dover - Dunkirk and get Poole - Cherbourg 12:10 and 548 miles.

Avoid Poole - Cherbourg and get Ramsgate - Ostend 5:58 and 188 miles.

AAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!
