How to disable on screen traffic cam alerts on 255WT

I use the Pocket GPS World speed cameras in my Garmin 255WT and was would like to know if possible

Is there a way to disable the messages that come up on the screen with a speed camera alert. I don’t read them & they often cover the bit of the route that I want to see next.

AFAIK you cannot turn these off.

They are Garmin messages (not PGPSW ones) and I have not found anything on the device that can switch them off.

...unless anyone has found a workaround???
