Nike and TomTom unveiled their sports watch at CES earlier this year. Adding to the already successful Nike+ brand, the sportwatch enters a market that has, until now, been dominated by Garmin with their Forerunner watches.

Sporting a striking modern look, with its large inverse LCD display, the Nike+ Sportwatch looks great. Although chunkier than a normal watch, due to the battery and GPS receiver, it is not unduly bulky and Nike have done well to design a GPS watch that looks this good.

Darren, another recent review noted that the accuracy of the gps positioning is suspect. Did you have an opportunity to download a tracklog and overlay on Google Earth to see how well it tracked?

I've added a screen grab to the review of one of the runs where the issue I described was obvious.

I'd had it prepared but forgot to add it to the page.

I'd like to say it's because I run so fast - but at the speed I run it's more like walking with a bounce Laughing

NINJA!

If that is a reasonable fix in nike's mind that is woafully inadiquate. Looks like it may have given a false distance too, but i don't know how much it relies on the stride distance of the shoe sensor. I have only just started playing with the nike iphone app so I might be wrong there.

Might just have a dodgy one! Sad

There does seem to be a common issue across the watches but I spoke with TomTom last night and they are looking at the cause. Nike are keen to resolve any issues and have already released two firmware updates in the short time it has been available.

I had the issue twice out of fifteen or so runs, too much to be acceptable but infrequent enough to live with in the short term so long as it is fixed soon.

A heads-up that amazon have these on their Black Friday deals for a limited time only http://www.amazon.co.uk/

I've just nabbed one for 126.
