It doesn't. It uses the supplied USB to proprietary GO 100x connector cable that clips into a slot in the mount.

To connect your GO 100x to a computer you need to use the same cable and TomTom supply a USB car charger for use with the cable.

The original mount had a hole to accept the bespoke connector that TomTom have designed for the Go-100x.

The After Market Brodit style mount TomTom supply with the line out connector uses a standard Mini-USB connection for the power supply, the docking connector for the device is fixed to the mount - Mike

As I mentioned before I can't find a Brodit mount on the TT site.

They don't mention the word "Brodit", they only call them Pro-clip:

Brodit = European
Pro-Clip = USA

Same kit for different sides of the "Pond" in most cases within the product range - Mike

The TT site doesn't list TT1000 as a compatible model, which explains why it didn't display when I listed TT1000 accessories.

But http://www.tomtom-proclip.com does have the TT1000 compatible mount (215470) @ EUR60, so if that's the "TomTom" site the earlier posters were referring to then it's gone up rather from £33! I ended up buying one @ £36.

That's another thing that puts me off swapping the 550 for a 1000. Over the last few years I've spent a fair old wedge on pro clips, mounts and hard wire kit for the 550 and previously the 520. It's probably cost me the equivalent of a another sat nav just for the gubbins needed to install them properly and the thought of doing a substantial part of it again does not fill me with enthusiasm! Don't the posts here show that if you have the existing Brodit kit, and you don't mind dismantling the Go1000's supplied windscreen mount, then you can mix and match the parts you would have already?

Only if you had the ball adapter - and that was from the iPhone carkit adapter.

If you have the Brodit style x40/ x50 mounting then its easy to extract the ball part and transplant the 100x mount supplied with the device to the old x40/x50 "ball"

There is a thread on here where I detailed how to convert the normal x40/ x50 mount supplied with the device to the Brodit style using the iPhone Ball, if you read both this thread and that one you will see its easy to complete.

Note the "Ball" is the same for all the following units:

One Third Edition
One XL
One Easy Port
XL Easy Port
Start/ Ease
Go-x20
Go-x30
Go-x40
Go-x50
Go-100x
iPhone Car Kit

Why would you want to do that Mike, out of interest? Surely you'd just end up with a GO 100x mount on the other model's windscreen mount?

Most of the Brodit and other solutions use their own cradle design or am I misunderstanding?

Just ensure it's a stick you grab and not a ball Shocked

The Brodit style x40/ x50 mount isn't for the windscreen its got the Brodit Ball which you screw to the Pro-Clip then fit the Go-100x supplied mount to it - Mike
