ok if this is right place!
on htc wildfire my maps zoom out to show a cluster of cameras, then back in.
av speed shows 120 mph in a 70 (with parallel 30 mph camera on another road).
i was emailed and told 'there are no specs zones in 70 mph areas' ,oh yeah? visit A14 cambridge then!
the said 70 specs is even on the map if you touch it, it says '70 mph'
i HAVE read manual
it was all ok before last app udate in android store
phew! |

This is currently being dealt with via the support ticket system.
i.e. we're not ignoring you!
The 'no SPECS at 70' comment was a mistake that has acknowledged by my colleague who said it initially.

The 120mph issue has already been raised by you in a support ticket and we are looking into the issue. As per our reply to you via the support desk, we need to establish if this is a repeatable error.
I apologise for mistakenly saying there were no 70 SPECS, a mistake on my part as I was not aware that of the new installs.
With regard to the map issue, this has not been raised as an issue by any other users to my knowledge. Can you tell me what the circumstances were? Was this whilst being used in-car, does it occur frequently?
I'll raise an internal bug ticket for both of these. It would help if you can tell us if the average speed issue re-occurs the next time you pass through that section. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

as a workaround for the maps you could turn off 'zoom automatically' in the settings.
it sounds like the 2 issues are linked though. zoom automatically will zoom out further when you go faster. if the app thinks you're doing 200+ mph (hence the 120mph average) then it will zoom right out and then when it gets a proper speed it will zoom back in again.
just one othe rthoguht on this, can you try it if you turn off 'use network location' in the advanced settings? this may be messing with the location/speed readings as your phone may be giving network location priority over gps location (which it shouldn't but we've seen some odd gps/location implementations on some devices!!)

I can report getting the 120mph average travelling through the 70mph Specs on the A14 as well, on Friday heading South and Sunday heading North.
For the record, map zoom turned off, zoom level 16, not using network location. |

Earlier we had some code to ignore the crazy GPS speed readings on the Nexus One. But then I tried to use the program on a plane and it didn't work because of the speed fllter. So we changed the code slightly. Wonder if we have to adjust it again for the crazy GPS readings on the HD...
Do you see these speed jumps in various places, or only on this one stretch? _________________ Lutz

That was the only place I saw it, even though I drove through the Specs on the M6 on the same journey. |

I can confirm that this is not repeatable on the iPhone. I drove that route southbound on thursday watching the display closely. The were no strange speed jumps. _________________ Mike Barrett
