THe travel advice on the AA website here:

http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/overseas/countrybycountry.html?mySelect=%2Fmotoring_advice%2Ftouring_tips%2Fgermany.pdf&go.x=56&go.y=16

includes the following:

"A GPS based navigation system which has maps indicating the location of fixed speed cameras must have the ‘fixed speed camera PoI (Points of Interest)’ function deactivated. Should you be unable to deactivate this function the GPS system must not be carried."

Is this correct?

Wow, never knew that. The same site says "In bad weather conditions, when visibility is below 50mm, the maximum speed limit is 50km/h.". Is that correct too?

If the visibility is below 50mm, then you would be crazy to venture out of your front door Very Happy

I don't think you'd be able to find your front door?
