This is one for the App developers !

First of all - What a fantastic App Very Happy

I LOVE the feature that gives a Voice Alert when approaching an Active camera,
and that if I am travelling too fast, say 40 MPH- when there is a drop in the limit to 30,
and a "Safety"Rolling Eyes camera is located just after the new limit,
there is an invaluable repeating voice alert "30" pause "30" pause "30" until I have reduced to the correct speed.

The issue I have ( which I will try and explain, and which I am sure will affect others ) is that I have just had a Bluetooth Hands Free car kit installed ( VW Fiscon kit ), which,
whenever there is an audio output from the iPhone, mutes the car radio / CD player etc,
and then plays the external iPhone audio, such as during a Phone call.

There is a slight delay between the moment the Bluetooth kit detects the external audio,
mutes the car radio / CD player and then opens the channel to play the external iPhone audio,
and because the repeating "40" etc. alerts are so short ( in time ),
the voice alert has been played by the CamerAlert App,
before the channel has opened, and the warning is missed Confused

There is just a few seconds of silence - because the radio has been muted, but then,
because the iPhone audio output has stopped ( "40" played and missed), the radio kicks back in.
Then ( if still travelling'too fast' ) there will be another few seconds of silence
as the next audio alert is played by the iPhone, and is missed again by the car kit Embarassed

The solution would appear to be ( to my way of thinking ), to add a few seconds of silence
at the start of each of these short audio alerts, but this should be a selectable option,
because when using the iPhone on its own without being connected to an external Bluetooth device,
you would want the audio alerts straight away.

Perhaps the App developers could provide an additional feature where the user could select an option
to play a "silent" sound file before every audio alert, with options to select the length of silence
e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 seconds etc, to match up with the users' particular hands free device.

Then again, perhaps someone is already aware of this issue and knows of a solution ?

Well, basically you describe the current application behaviour. Before each sound we play a second of silence if we see that the audio goes out to the A2DP receiver.

So maybe your BT audio device takes extra long to "open" the connection? Can you configure it to a less aggressive power save mode?

Do you hear the other announcements ok?

No, there are no options to change that setting.

It's just the way it works - designed I suppose to handle incoming phone calls,
where missing the first couple of seconds of a ringing tone are neither here nor there.

The other CamerAlert announcements ( which are longer ) are acceptable,
because the only thing that is missed is the word "Warning" at the start.

Is there any way of increasing the 1 second delay to maybe 2 or 3 seconds ?

Thanks.
