I downloaded the latest database update (9.032) when it was available. It gave me 28981 cameras.

I've just looked at it again with "Manage Cameras" to check if there was an update. There wasn't one apparently - still showing 9.032 - but the number of cameras shown on that database at the server was 28986. So I re-downloaded and now my iPhone has 28986 cameras. But the version number is unchanged at 9.032.

I'm sure MaFt will correct me if I'm wrong.

The 9.032 refers to the weekly download.

CamerAlert downloads on the fly, and includes cameras as they are processed between the 9.032 Wednesday and the following 9.033 Wednesday.

I believe that .03 is the month (ie 03 for March) and the suffix is the sequential release for that month.

The next release, as already mentioned, will be 9.033.

However, the first release for April will be 9.041 and, likewise, the third release for October would be 9.103.

The database is updated on a Wednesday, except when MaFt is either on holiday or away on business - but that usually still gives us at least 50 releases over the year.

Users of the CamerAlert app can get updates on the fly per day, no way to know if MaFt has been working on the database but if he has you can get more up to date data on a day to day basis USING CamerAlert not the normal download which is updated once per week (where possible) - Mike

As MikeA has said, we add updates to the mater database as they are processed. This means the database could be updated 20 times one day and none the next.

CamerAlert users have direct access to the master database and so can download as often as they like and receive these updates.

We roll up the updates into a new V number each Wednesday to make it easier for CamerAlert users to see where they are in the scheme of things.
