I missed out on the beta and I am so looking forward to the release. The newsletter I just received says it is now 'imminent' in the Market. With most computer software, I would expect 'imminent' to mean anything from 3 months to never but I am sure when PGPSW says 'imminent' we are talking much sooner. Do you have an approximation, please?
TIA

Lutz is currently slaving away trying to improve on some memory issues some of the testers were getting very recently. We don't want to release anything officially until issues like this are resolved. Unfortunately we can't give an exact date, but really - it's almost ready!!

I thought I would just pop in (as normally just been lurking in here). I have been helping on the closed beta; this app is amazing. Seeing it develop over the last few weeks is a real eye opener to just how difficult it is to get an app working well.
As MaFt says, its very very close, but as with all software its the testing, tweaking, and testing that makes a good app great!
Lutz has done a brilliant job filtering out the important feedback from us all, and creating an app that works so nicely that I am sure you wont actually need any instructions to use! (He's also told us where to go with suggestions that were a bit "too far out" as well!)
In my testing it runs seamlessly infront of or behind googlenav, even flashes a speed limit symbol infront of googlenav if I get a warning!; warns me over my Parrot bluetooth when phone off (ok not actually off, but in standby!). This is what testing is all about; and unfortunately causes some delay.
I can honestly say it will be worth the wait. Hold tight !!! |
