pocketgpsworld.comProClip USA, North American distributor of Brodit ProClip cradled and mounts are offering a 10% discount on all orders as part of their October Customer Appreciation Month.

For those unfamiliar with Brodit's ProClip system, it consists of two parts, the ProClip, a vehicle specific no-holes mounting platform and a device specific cradle.

The ProClip affixes to your dash without the use of screws and provides a stable platform to which you can attach one of the thousands of cradles Brodit have designed. If you add a MOVE clip, you can slide the cradle on/off the ProClip in seconds and transfer between vehicles.

If you change cars, keep the cradle and replace the ProClip, if you change devices, change the cradle and keep the ProClip, simple and effective.

ProClip USA ship world-wide. For more information see their web-site here and use code 102010 during checkout to claim your discount.

For many years I've just used Velcro. 'Hooky' side on the dash, soft side on the phone or other device. Cheap, effective, unobtrusive, quick to use.

One of my mates has used these for a long time, they are a bit expensive but are more than worth the money, as a company vehicle driver we change our cars every three years which means buying new clips if the car changes. all the clips are easy to fit as they just slip into gaps in the facia or surround and come with a spacer tool to open the gap.

well worth the money (i think they start at about £30) especially if like our company that dont like you drilling holes or causing any damage to the car.

Velcro sticky hooks, pah they just wear out eventually and never keep anything fixed firmly.

The soft side wears eventually (about three years in my usage) when you simply peel it off and replace it, cost < 10p.

Velcro is very sticky - I've seen one Land Rover tow another one with it. (demo by Cockermouth Mountain rescue team)

No video, I was actually there and it was about 20 years ago. It's called real life!

You could always contact Cockermouth Mountain Rescue team and ask them.

I seem to have missed this special Velcro that allows you to tilt, swivel and charge a device? Sounds very cool though Laughing

Velcro might be fine for holding a small mobile on the dash but it would be pretty useless for most nav's. And with the cost of my iPhone I'd rather it was cradled by something rather more supportive than some Velcro personally.

But each to their own.

OK so I'm a little late contributing to this post, but I have been using Brodit products for years.. Citroen Xantia and BMW 5 series have had both SatNav clips and holders and also numerous phone holders attached... very good quality and a high price too... but considering that little else is as effective then you are left with paying the price. I have just purchased a Saab 9-5 and duly ordered the appropriate new ProClips (Amazon £14.95 ish) for phone and new Garmin SatNav only to be dissapointed.. the Proclip to the left of the radio negates use of a very trick cup holder and the Proclip above the centre console display blocks effective use of the ventilation controls.. can't see an alternative, any idea's?

Did you check Brodit's web-site before you ordered? They should have shown where the clips fitted. I've had a look but there are a lot of 9-5 variants.

Are these #654514 and 654516?

There is also a right of steering wheel mounting point, #604515

Too late now but DSLDevelopments are the UK supplier, they may be able to advise, or if there is an issue with these locations, pass the information back to Brodit.

Brodit are very proactive, if there is an issue they are always keen to fix and quick to do so.

Didn't Brodit's web-site show you where they were placed before you ordered?

It may simply be that there is no better location to mount them?

I did review the website and yes the little drawing did show the position over the vent grill (just like the BMW) only unlike the BMW it prevents operation of controls... I'm not blaming Brodit (I can't see where else to put it either) and I can can get a refund... just thought I would share my experience and see if anyone else had come up with an alternative.
