Got a new iPhone 4 16GB 3 days ago and installed latest Navigon (with Postcode and Traffic) and Cameralert. With no other Apps running, can't get Cameralert to run in background with Navigon in foreground. Cameralert runs in foreground fine, with Navigon giving instructions. I've turned off maps in Cameralert, as I just want to hear the warnings, but want to see the Navigon map. All software is latest version.

Hi Phil, My apologies for not responding to this sooner. I've used Navigon with CamerAlert running the background successfully but will re-test.

Hi Darren,
Thanks for reply. It is slightly better with ios 4.2.1. Any hints or tips? I find the iPhone and Navigon "manuals" or Apple "support" to be very limited as to getting multitasking to work. Navigon's own camera base better than TomTom? But don't show mobile cameras.

Cheers,
Phil

I launch CamerAlert, then switch to the springboard and launch Navigon. And it works fine. I'm just about to go out and test it with the latest versions of iOS and the CamerAlert Beta.

I have had similar but erratic problem. It does seem best to load cameralert first, let it lock up gps and load camera, then launch Navigon, bring that up front. I also find that using the iPod app, navigon stops music but cameralert doesn't. I am running these on an
iPad so may be different ti iPhone

Thanks for info guys. As an update, I have found it a bit more stable of late. But am launching it first and letting it lock on etc. Also I've had a response from Navigon about similar related(?) problems:
Navigon is always asking for Apple password. Installation not correct? Try re-downloading and installing again. Will wait for next update from Navigon (due this month apparently).
Navigon display momentarily dims every minute. Apple bug, is not respecting app's instructions. Despite this should be fixed in next Navigon release.
So will wait for next release of Navigon, then re-install.
Phil

You can change that in the settings, we offer pause or fade as a user selectable option.
