Funny - that's how ours works too... I didn't know that.

So we can drop the tilt sensor functionality?

The problem is one that I also mentioned in the Android forum. We need hard data on the usage frequency for each feature/setting before we can rearrange the settings menu.

Understood, BUT most settings will be altered when not driving. Those that may change whilst driving such as Day/Night need to be prominent and easily accessible?

Usage frequency would help but that's info we don't have.

so when the user flips the HUD switch in the settings it will then always affect the main screen until they go back to settings and switch it off again?

That would be a lot simpler IMO. At the moment, they don't seem to realise what it does when flipped and then when it is triggered later, they don't connect changing that setting with causing the flipped screen.

I wonder how many actually use it anyway?

Perhaps we're assuming that people know what HUD is, when maybe they don't, so they're just not using it.

Would it help to use the full name?

It took me a long time to find out what HUD meant. Then a long time to find it. Then a long time to try to use it (and find it's not a lot of use in my van and useless in daylight). Do I need a mirror on my dash to use it? Or do I need a Harrier or an F18 to use it?

Apologies in advance if these questions have asked before...

-Any chance of loading the verifier database?
-I assume this app works on the iPad too?
-I suggest a dialog popup the first time the app is run to configure logon details; despite the nags, it took longer than I expected to find where I enter my subscription details.
-Ability to photograph the location with geotagging/timestamping for later fine tuning of the submission would be interesting. Wouldn't this be a great way for punters to provide evidence that doesn't requite the eyeballs of verifier?
-Australia has this bizarre concept of date/time driven variable speed limits in school zones. Would be awesome if the app knew what the school days are, and hence what speed restriction applies at any given time.

Cheers

The first time the app is run it has a trial download. But a one time popup that explains things is a good idea. +1

We have 20 zones during school hours in some places too. But that is outside the scope of our service at present. We alert for spot locations rather than zones or stretches of road so it's not an easy thing to implement.

I think you'll find that as a Verifier, that part of the database is included in your download - it certainly is in mine. Configure your "Sound Warnings" to tick "Unverified" (unfortunately it's a little bit out of sight at the bottom of the list).

To be honest, I thought this happens if you take an iPhone snap of the camera - I'll swear MaFt has said when he gets a photo it includes location and your speed and direction at the time

The school zones are very specifically bracketed with signs and road markings - nothing at all vague about this (otherwise they wouldn't be able to write those ticket that carry extra demerit points and fine$). The real problem is the time of date - you can drive the same route 10X, then suddenly one day during the week or at a different time and they nail you.
